The natural world

Spread the love

The natural world has always fascinated me, and this is why I studied biology at university. I will try to post some of my observations here, hoping that I may kindle interests in nature in someone else. I enjoy all aspects of nature and nature photography, both plants and animals as well as ecosystems and their dynamics. During my PhD studies, I worked on the ecology of subtidal ecosystems in eastern Canada, especially the role of sea urchins and their predators. Later I worked on intertidal systems and also marine algae systematics with a focus on coralline algae. I have always been interested in photographing nature, and I am currently on a bird photography craze.

In addition, I recently bought a 100mm macro lens for my Canon R5. I had to order an adapter ring to be able to use my old ring flash, so I am now in business, and I am also on a butterfly photography craze. As I photograph and learn new butterflies, I pop a short blog post here as a means to create a record. Hopefully this is interesting for other people as well.
